Excellent for breaking out naughty beads which have been sewn incorrectly in your bead weaving and embroidery designs.  No need to panic and unpick, push the awl into the pesky bead and it will break the bead apart.  This technique is good for glass seed beads.  Protective eyewear is recommended when breaking glass beads.

Also used to punch holes through leather and vinyl.

Awl measures 11cm long and wooden handle is 2.5cm at the widest point.
