In December 2022 I was thrilled to be a part of the Cranberry Advent Calendar for Bead Weavers. The advent calendars were available to pre order from Cranberry in September and it took us quite a while to pack all the little zip lock bags full of treasures.
During the month of December customers who pre ordered an advent calendar are now opening those packets each day for the lead up to Christmas. My project was over the first six days of December.
This is how I imagine the baubles on the Christmas tree from the Nutcracker Ballet would have looked. They glisten and shine as Clara is taken on her magical ballet journey with the Nutcracker Prince.
The bauble is made with units of Double Right Angle Weave aka DRAW and netting stitches. A tassel is then attached to the bottom and add either a ribbon or string of beads to the top for hanging on your Christmas tree.
These would make lovely Christmas gifts for friends and family and I intend to gift some this year.
It was so wonderful to have my design selected to be included and was the first project in the advent calendar. The feedback has been overwhelmingly good and it has been wonderful to see everyone making their baubles and sharing photos of them hanging on their Christmas trees.
